The Grounded – How Mother Earth Heals Us

The Grounded is a journey into the healing potential of grounding and connecting to Mother Earth. This captivating documentary follows a National Geographic filmmaker Steve Kroschel who finds relief from aches and pain using the earth as a healing conduit source of free electrons. He asserts that “grounding,” touching the earth with bare skin, proves itself to be a radical health-care breakthrough for ending pain.

Grounding can mean walking barefoot on grass or, as Mr. Kroschel does in one scene, taking a mud bath without water (essentially rolling around naked in the dirt).

Helping his community, he expands his circle of people who are eager to learn about the effects of grounding.  The residents of Haines, Alaska, where Mr. Kroschel has a wildlife rescue center, seem to find relief from conditions varying from backaches to snoring, after using grounding tools given to them for the purpose of the experiment. Participants then plug into an electrical outlet, which connects to a bedsheet or their feet. They give testimony to the fact that they experienced relief from their pain after practicing the suggested grounding techniques.  Many claim that the earthing speeds healing and enhances vitality.

Testing for Results

After watching this documentary, I tested out the prognosis that was claimed in the film by spending time laying on the grass for half an hour each day. I felt a definite improvement in my back. No longer was I in pain when I woke up in the morning. I could definitely feel the benefits of connecting with the earth in this way.

The photography in the documentary of plants and animals (a bear waking from hibernation, a road-killed moose being cut up to fit in a trunk) is full of wonder.

Featuring David Suzuki, Clint Ober, Dr. Mercola, and other leaders, naturalists, and health visionaries.
