The Apocalypse with Richard Harris brings together many actors and the director in an attempt to portray the events that are written in the Book of Revelation. Very few people comprehend what is written in the last book of the Bible.
This film does a reasonable job of tackling the unenviable task of interpretation. The truth is that the Grey Haired man was someone who lived recently. This man was able to go backwards and forwards in time. Much of what is written in the Book of Revelation was dictated by him, knowing that people would not comprehend it. Only those who would learn the inner secrets of the initiates would have the closest idea of what this book is about.
<h3><span style="color: #993366;">The Plot</span></h3>
In the late first century, the Roman Emperor Domitian unleashes a virulent campaign against Christians. Held captive by the Romans on the Island of Patmos, the aged Apostle John receives strange visions, including messages directly from Jesus to the seven persecuted churches on the nearby mainland. The key aspects of the story are firmly rooted in biblical text and historical research.
To propel the story, a few fictional characters are imagined, including a young Christian woman named Irene. Irene becomes important to John's mission. Driven by her wish to meet the last living witness of the Lord's passion, Irene succeeds in gaining access to John's prison. Entrusting the written record of his visions to her, he begs Irene to spread its message among the Christians. These visions form the contents of the Book of Revelation. It is the mysterious prophecy of Jesus’ return and a spiritual message for Christians of all eras.
